Your own web address
A domain is simply the address people type to find your site, such as yourname.com. You buy it from a domain registrar, keep it in your name, and Home Folk guides you through connecting it.
Often around $10–$20 a year
Prices depend on the name and ending. Introductory offers can be lower, while renewals and specialty endings may cost more. Check the renewal price before you buy.
Search at any registrar. Popular choices include Cloudflare , Namecheap , Porkbun and Squarespace Domains .
The domain remains yours. Home Folk does not register it, mark up its price, or take control of its renewal.
Home Folk gives you the exact DNS records to copy. After they are verified, your personal address opens your Home Folk site securely.
Built around your trust
Choose the supported audience for your home and albums: just you, accepted friends, invited guests, or Anyone. Anything you publish for Anyone is public.
Supported privacy settings let you decide who can view your homepage and shared albums.
Activity comes from accepted friends, newest first. There are no promoted posts or engagement-ranking algorithms deciding whose update you see.
Membership payments support Home Folk, so personal spaces do not need advertising. Stripe handles checkout; Home Folk does not collect your full payment-card number.
Your domain remains in your registrar account, and you retain ownership of the content you add.
Uploaded media is stored privately and written to a second private backup bucket. Connected sites also receive secure HTTPS connections.
Members can export supported account data and submit an authenticated account deletion request.
Founding members can ask a person for domain setup and account help at support@homefolk.social. Your domain remains in your registrar account if your membership or Home Folk service changes. Keep independent copies of irreplaceable photographs and download your Home Folk export regularly.
